  • The Acura RDX offers a similar 2.0-liter I-4 engine with 272 horsepower.  Available Super-handling all-wheel drive.  Standard suspension causes for some rocky roads at time. 
  • The BMW X1 will give you the same four-cylinder, Intercooled Turbo I-4 engine as the Audi Q3.  It also churns out 228 horsepower.  Only available in front-wheel drive.
  • The Volvo XC40 Provides some pickup with its 187 horsepower 2.0-liter Turbo I-4 engine.  All-wheel drive comes standard.
  • The Lexus NX comes with a 235 horsepower Turbo I-4 engine.  Available all-wheel drive.  Drive mode select responds to terrain.

Interior Design and Comfort

  • Audi has improved the interior of the Audi Q3 by updating the driver position and providing a driver-friendly control layout.  Leather seats come standard.  An available lighting package provides you with colorful ambient lighting.  Its rear 40/20/40 seats can recline for passenger comfort, slide forward for more legroom or fold forward to fit cargo.
  • The Acura RDX has leather interior features available in its seats and steering wheel.  The cabin offers good room for passengers.  Climate controls can be small with confusing icons.  Side pillars can cause some visibility issues for some drivers.
  • The BMW X1 also provide ample room for passengers and cargo.  Stow and Go seating make folding the rear seats easy.  Cabin does little keep noises outside.  A narrow and firm driver's seat may give cause some discomfort
  • The Volvo XC40 also has leather seats come standard and are comfortable for most drivers.  There are patterned metal trims that seem out of place in some locations.  The cabin and roomy is quiet enough for everyone.
  • The interior of the Lexus NX has comfortable seats, but with less headroom for passengers.  The 60/40 rear seats don't fold flat for storage.

Technology

  • The technology offered in the Audi Q3 comes in clear on an 8.8 or 10.1-inch touchscreen display.  Wireless smartphone charging is helpful, as is the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.  In-Car LTE Wi-Fi hotspot makes sure you stay connected.  The Audi's Virtual Cockpit shows you your driver information on a standard 10.25-inch instrument cluster with available Google Maps service.  It gives you everything you need right in front of you.  Audi Connect keeps your navigation and Amazon Music store easily accessible.  The MMI Touch allows for you to search for a destination using handwritten notes instead of clicking numbers and letters.
  • The True Touchpad Interface is available on the Acura RDX and works similarly to Audi's MMI touch system, using a computer track pad.  Apple CarPlay is available, but Android users won't have access to smartphone integration.  4G LTE Wi-Fi connectivity is available.
  • Navigation and real-time traffic updates come standard on the BMW X1.  You can get Apple CarPlay free for a year, after that you must pay for the subscription.  The standard 6.5-inch infotainment display screen is on the smaller side, but contains navigation, radio and phone controls are all tied to one knob.
  • Much like its rivals, the Volvo XC40 also comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, as well as an available 4G Wi-Fi hotspot.  You can sign up for a four year subscription to Volvo's emergency services.
  • The Lexus NX comes with Amazon Alexa thanks to the Lexus+Alexa App.  Apple CarPlay comes standard on most trim levels. Lexus Enform Destination Assist are available features in higher trim levels.
